We are seeking an experienced Landscape Project Lead with the expertise to lead a large, complex modern landscape project in the Toronto area.
This role requires deep technical knowledge of contemporary landscape systems, and strong on‑site construction leadership. The ideal candidate brings both design literacy and hands‑on construction experience, enabling seamless coordination between design intent and built execution.
The successful candidate thrives working primarily on‑site, while still being able to transition into office‑based tasks for planning, coordination, design interpretation, and problem‑solving.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise on-site landscape construction activities for a complex, modern project.
Interpret and communicate landscape architectural plans, details, and specifications with precision.
Manage day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to timelines.
Oversee subcontractors and crews to ensure work meets design intent, landscape architectural standards, and technical specifications.
Develop, maintain, and adjust project schedules to meet milestones.
Coordinate sequencing of trades, materials, inspections, and site logistics.
Identify potential delays or issues and implement corrective actions proactively.
Review, coordinate, and generate shop drawings in collaboration with consultants and suppliers.
Interpret construction plans, specifications, and technical details with precision.
Ensure installation of complex landscape systems is executed correctly (e.g., irrigation, drainage, root systems, structural elements, specialty finishes).
Coordinate material procurement, delivery timelines, and site inventory.
Track and report on material usage, delivery variances, and supply chain risks.
Uphold and enforce site safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Serve as the primary on-site contact for project managers, designers, and clients.
Provide regular updates, progress reports, and documentation.
Assess manpower, equipment, and resource needs to ensure the subcontractor can meet project demands.
Engage and coordinate with specialty vendors and suppliers to confirm installation requirements and material lead times.
Conduct constructability reviews and provide practical field‑based solutions to design or sequencing challenges.
Coordinate interfaces with structural, civil, electrical, and mechanical trades impacting landscape elements.
Maintain accurate field documentation, including daily logs, progress tracking, and as‑built verification.
Qualifications
Education:
College/Technical Training or Trades Certificate,
Skills & Professional Training
Driver's License - AZ, Clean Driving Record
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
10+ years of experience in landscape construction with progressively responsible site or project supervision.
Demonstrated ability to align construction execution with landscape architectural design intent.
Extensive experience with modern landscape systems (structural soils, green roofs, stormwater systems, lighting, specialty paving, custom fabrication, etc.).
Proven experience managing project schedules and coordinating trades.
Ability to generate, review, and interpret shop drawings and construction documentation.
Experience with municipal and commercial urban landscape projects.
Ability to troubleshoot irrigation, drainage, or electrical landscape systems.
Familiarity with construction project management software (Autodesk or AutoCAD) an asset.
Previous experience functioning as a Foreman, Site Supervisor, or Project Manager.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver’s license; ability to work on-site daily in the GTA.
Knowledge of local building codes, landscape standards, and health & safety regulations.

$80 000 to $90 000/year
