TREE OPERATIONS COORDINATOR Full Time Contract Position in Waterloo Region Background Reep Green Solutions is an environmental charity that has been helping people in Waterloo Region live sustainably for 25 years. Our programs on home energy efficiency, water conservation, healthy yards, and waste reduction empower participants to take action. In short, we work together with the community on practical solutions for addressing and adapting to climate change. Position Summary As part of our Mission to make sustainable living the norm in our community, we want to engage people in our work through every means possible. The Tree Operations Coordinator is a FULL-TIME CONTRACT position. The Tree Operations Coordinator will enjoy working as a valued member of the tree stewardship team. The role will support Reep Green Solutions’ Backyard Tree Planting (BYTP) program, which helps residents get the right tree in the right place with the right care, and the Community Canopy program, which delivers the BYTP program for free in certain neighbourhoods to increase tree equity. The Tree Operations Coordinator will help deliver these programs by assisting with residential property planting and maintenance, as well as program outreach and engagement across the Waterloo Region and Guelph. The role will also extend to other green infrastructure activities related to the Tree Trust program, which is focused on caring for and extending the lives of mature, legacy trees across the region. Related responsibilities will include supporting tree care and planting events, as well as helping to facilitate the Tree of the Year campaign. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented, has excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and enjoys working outdoors. This role includes in-person appointments, events and meetings, with some evening and weekend work required. It also includes virtual meetings and working remotely on tasks; having a home workstation set up to work remotely when required will be essential. Hours: 5 days/week, totaling 37.5 hours/week Term: April 20, 2026 to October 16, 2026 with the opportunity for a 1-2 month extension pending funding Hourly Wage: $21.75 per hour Reporting to: Interim Manager, Tree Programs Roles & Responsibilities Program delivery, administration and field operations Conduct tree planting at scheduled locations as part of the BYTP program Drive company-sourced vehicle with trailer, following safety guidelines Assist with ordering and processing residential utility locates Support the Tree Trust program at tree care events and through the Tree of the Year campaign Maintain records adhering to budget and reporting guidelines Track seasonal and annual deliverables and targets Generate reports to assist with strategic planning Community engagement and events Assist in the delivery of a community engagement strategy in targeted neighbourhoods, including on evenings and weekends as required Communicate with municipal and non-profit partners to facilitate events Represent Reep Green Solutions at various community engagement events Canvass Community Canopy neighbourhoods and deliver program flyers In addition to these responsibilities, other tasks may be added as required by the organization We’re looking for someone with: Tree planting experience in urban environments and/or a diploma/degree in urban forestry, environmental studies or related field Deep commitment to Reep’s mission, vision, and values and demonstrated interest in and commitment to environmental issues Access to a vehicle with a full G driver’s license with proof of insurance and a clean driving record Ability to lift at least 50 lbs CSA approved safety boots are required Current Emergency First Aid + CPR certification is an asset ISA Certification and/or experience driving with a trailer is considered an asset Excellent customer service and communication skills Strong attention to detail Experience in community engagement is an asset Experience working or volunteering with a not-for-profit organization is an asset Ability to work in extreme weather outdoors doing physically demanding work This posting is for one existing vacancy.
