Lead gardener

Salary: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour Benefits: • Dental Care • Extended Health care • Vision care • Life Insurance • Employee assistance program • Company Events • On-site parking Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Job Requirements: All Terra Opus Group staff members need to be prepared to attend our Mount Albert yard location at 630am Monday to Friday Responsibilities: •Weed gardens, prune shrubs and trees, spread soil/mulch, plant flowers, fall and spring clean-up and perform other maintenance duties as directed by contract scope. •Manage/train the crew staff, manage workloads and client requests as lead foreman and crew supervisor. •Follow all health & safety regulations including wearing appropriate protective equipment and following Safety Data Sheets (formerly MSDS) for safe handling of fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides and other dangerous chemicals; •Clean working areas and maintain tools and equipment. Tools & Equipment: •Hedge shears, pruning saws , string & bush trimmers, power blowers, etc. •Hand tools such as shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, picks, pruning shears, handheld and hose-end sprayers, soil cultivators, etc. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: •Driving a pick up truck and covered/dump trailer an asset but not required •Reading: WHMIS labels, equipment manuals, complete logs and incident reports, job •Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials •Ability to work in diverse weather conditions i.e. wet and/or humid conditions; hot or cold weather Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $27.00-$29.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40 per week Benefits: •Company events •Dental care •Employee assistance program •Extended health care •Life insurance •On-site parking •Vision care Schedule: •10 hour shift •12 hour shift Work Location: In person
