Horticultural Specialist
Plants don’t manage themselves—and on a busy job site, neither does quality. That’s where you come in.
At Oakridge Landscape Contractors, we’ve been building and maintaining landscapes across Southern Ontario for over 30 years. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Horticultural Specialist who can bring strong plant knowledge, attention to detail, and leadership to our team.
What the role looks like:
This is a hands-on position with a mix of fieldwork and team support. You’ll be the go-to person for plant health and proper horticultural practices across multiple projects.
Lead The Way: Support and guide crews on planting, pruning, and general plant care.
Plant Watch: Monitor plant health and address issues related to pests, disease, or stress.
Quality First: Oversee plant handling, installation, and transport to ensure quality is maintained.
Plan Ahead: Review and tag nursery stock for upcoming jobs.
Precision Care: Apply fertilizers and treatments in line with industry standards.
Hands-On Help: Step in on installs and maintenance when needed.
Qualifications
- Driver's License - G
- Pesticide Technician Certificate
What we’re looking for:
1–3 years of experience in horticulture, landscaping, or similar work.
Strong plant knowledge and attention to detail.
Landscape Exterminator (Spray) License – required.
Valid driver’s license.
Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons.
Someone who can take initiative and work well with a team.
Compensation
