Position: Horticulturalist/Crew Leader

The Tiny Gardener Inc. is a niche company in that we only deal with gardens; renovating exiting beds, installing new ones, seasonal container gardens and garden maintenance. We strive to boost pollinator populations and wildlife diversity in every garden we work on. We are looking for a motivated individual with plant expertise to join our team.

Day to day duties will include:

 managing a team to complete the daily job list while upholding our company’s standards

 plant care including; identification, deadheading, pruning, planting, dividing, fertilizing, pest management, watering, etc.

 weeding

 digging

 applying mulch/soil

 sod removal

 edging

 customer service etc.

The perfect candidate is someone who:

 has strong leadership and teaching abilities

 is self-motivated

 team oriented

 has strong organization and time management skills

 is knowledgeable about perennials, shrubs and trees for Simcoe County (climate zone 5a). Specifically identifying them and their general cultural needs

 enjoys working outdoors

 has a valid driver’s license

 can drive a truck and trailer

 can lift and carry 20 pounds or more

 takes pride in a hard day’s work

 wants to contribute to protecting our environment

 Loves nature and is passionate about plants!

Wages range between $24.00-$30.00/hour depending on experience and skill set. Wages are negotiable with room for advancement. Off-season training and continued education courses are available and encouraged. A typical work week is Monday to Friday 7:00am-5:30pm but this may vary throughout the season. Historically our season starts the beginning of April and runs to the end of November. Health Care Benefits and Bonuses are also available. We serve Barrie and the surrounding area.
