Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Construction Estimator to join our team and drive successful project bids from initial concept through detailed cost analysis. This energetic role requires a proactive approach to estimating costs, preparing accurate bids, and collaborating closely with project teams to ensure profitability and efficiency. Responsibilities

Prepare detailed construction estimates and takeoffs including all labour, materials and equipment by analyzing project plans, specifications, and site conditions

Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing information and negotiate terms

Assist in meetings with clients and partners

Co-ordinate subcontractor submissions during the tendering process via phone in a professional and courteous manner

Co-ordinate and conduct site visits to assess conditions that impact project costs and timelines

Co-ordinate submission of tender documents

Prepare shop drawings as required

Manage cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle to ensure budgets are maintained

Review contracts, scope of work, and project schedules to align estimates with client expectations

Assist in the development of bid proposals that clearly outline scope, costs, and timelines

Requirements

Completion of relevant college or university program, preferably in civil engineering

Minimum of 3 years relevant experience

Proven experience in landscape construction estimating within commercial and/or civil sectors

Strong knowledge of landscape construction management processes, contracts, and project management principles

Familiar with bidding process and self-motivated

Able to interpret landscape drawings

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must be detail oriented

Able to handle multiple tenders and deadlines

Excellent negotiation skills for working with subcontractors and suppliers

Solid understanding of construction site operations, cost control, and pricing strategies

Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents
