About the Role:
- Ensure that all aspects of the grounds and outdoor areas of Sifton-owned townhomes, common areas, and parks are well maintained and safe, providing a pleasant environment for our tenants and the community.
- Perform a broad range of building, structural, and landscaping repairs and maintenance, including foundation leak repairs, drainage, and related exterior work.
- Respond to resident work orders and service requests in a timely, professional manner while working collaboratively with team members to deliver excellent customer service.
- Safely operate and maintain maintenance equipment, light-duty utility vehicles, power tools, and gas- and battery-powered tools.
- Support seasonal and general property operations, including snow removal, litter pickup, garbage collection, grass cutting, Trimming, Gardening, Planting trees, shrubs and flowers, laying sod or mulch, and maintenance shop housekeeping.
- Promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace by following Health & Safety procedures, completing required training, identifying hazards, and properly using PPE.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma,
- Apprentice Level I/II,
- College/Technical Training or Trades Certificate,
- Driver's License - G
- Clean Driving Record
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, or general property maintenance is preferred, with demonstrated ability in repairs including caulking, asphalt, patio/stonework, water leaks, drainage, lawn care, garbage/recycling, and snow removal.
- Physically capable of performing maintenance duties in all weather conditions, with the ability to safely operate grounds maintenance equipment and follow established safety protocols.
- Strong maintenance aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot, multitask, take initiative, work independently, and remain accountable while collaborating effectively with team members.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a positive, respectful, and professional approach when interacting with residents, tenants, and colleagues.
- Self-motivated, energetic, dependable, and flexible to accommodate varying work schedules; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Must be available to work winter on-call rotation.
- Must supply CSA-approved footwear.
- Working at Heights certification is an asset.
