SOFTSCAPE FOREMAN / CREW LEADER

Bennett Lawn & Landscape — Stittsville and Ottawa West

Pay: $30–$36/hour, based on demonstrated capability

Bennett Lawn & Landscape is hiring an experienced softscape professional to help lead a new 2–3-person crew. We’re looking for someone who already understands how to execute landscape installations and wants the responsibility of organizing people, equipment and daily production.

You do not need to know our exact systems on day one. You do need the technical foundation to recognize good work, solve problems and keep a crew moving. We will train you on Bennett’s installation standards, project management software workflow and leadership expectations.

WHAT YOU’LL LEAD

- Sod, mulch and river-rock installations

- Planting beds, shrubs and perennial installations

- Grading and drainage work

- Daily delegation and sequencing of crew tasks

- Material pickups and coordination of site deliveries

- Start-of-day and end-of-day client check-ins

- Daily logs covering completed work, labour hours and materials

REQUIRED

- Practical experience executing sod, mulch, river rock, grading, drainage and planting work

- Competent skid-steer and mini-excavator operation

- Valid licence and a safe driving record appropriate for assigned company driving

- Comfortable and legally qualified to tow the assigned truck-and-trailer combination

- Able to communicate professionally with clients and crew members

- Organized, reliable and willing to document work accurately

- Able to perform physically demanding outdoor work in changing conditions

PREFERRED

- Previous experience leading a landscape crew

- Experience planning daily production and teaching junior crew members

- Experience using job-management software

A strong installer with clear leadership potential will also be considered.
