A skilled and experienced Maintenance Coordinator of Grounds and Infrastructure is needed at North Vancouver School District 44 (NVSD44). Working under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, as Coordinator, you will be responsible for executing construction, grounds maintenance, landscaping, and preventative maintenance projects on NVSD’s various sites and infrastructure.

In this variety-filled role, your judgement and expertise will be relied upon in your work with the District’s employees and contractors to orchestrate and oversee seasonal maintenance projects. You will also plan, assign and review the work of contractors and employees, ensuring that work is performed safely and completed to North Vancouver School District’s standards and according to plans, permits, by-laws and codes.

With at least 10 years of experience coordinating maintenance projects and developing preventative maintenance plans within a municipal type setting, you also possess:

  • Knowledge of current standards of practices and methods in the horticultural, arboriculture, landscaping and civil works professions
  • Considerable knowledge of hazards and safety precautions at work
  • Working knowledge of surveying and elementary civil engineering practices
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
  • The ability to interpret engineering plans and survey notes

You may also possess a diploma from a post-secondary institution in grounds and infrastructure management, arboriculture, horticulture, landscape technician or equivalent field; facilities management certificate or equivalent (i.e. APPA, BOMA, IFMA, LEED); B.C. Pesticide Applicators; ICBC Code 20 Heavy Trailer Endorsement, and software knowledge of applications such as AutoCAD and MS Office.
