The grounds keeping manager overall responsibilities, create operational and safety procedures, hire workers, and draft budgets. Determine the equipment and services required for jobs and submit cost estimates to clients. These jobs and services can include the care of lawns, shrubs, and trees, in addition to the maintenance and repair of outdoor features, such as irrigation systems, fences, or benches.
Grounds managers also will train or coordinate the training of new hires, handle service or employee records, create worker schedules, and prioritize services. The grounds manager will also become very familiar with contracts and their specific details pertaining to individual properties.The grounds manager will coordinate with other departments and the General Manager, and will perform grounds maintenance duties if necessary. i.e. covering absentee workers and or handle a customer complaint that requires immediate attention. The grounds manager will also operate snow removal equipment in the winter months. Although this is partly an office job, a significant amount of time will be spent in the field.

Typical hours are Monday to Friday 7-5, but the manager also understands that issues may arise outside of these normal hours that may need to be addressed. Job is full time, benefits.
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
Astute knowledge of plant material and how to maintain turf, landscape beds, shrubs ..etc is required. Exterminators licence is preferred but not required. A full G License with a clean record is required. Heavy experience in snow removal is required.
