Parks Maintenance Students - Horticulture

Contract dates: April 27, 2020 to September 4, 2020
The Community Services Department requires Parks Maintenance Students – Horticulture to assist in maintaining the Town’s landscape. This will include preparation and planting of annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs; including but not limited to watering, pruning, fertilizing, cultivation, mulching, edging, and other duties as assigned. Normal hours of work for this position will be forty (40) hours per week. This position will require working various shifts, including evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.
Students must be enrolled in a full-time post-secondary horticultural education program. This may include Horticultural Technician, Landscape Technician, Floral Design, Greenhouse Technician or similar field of studies. A valid driver’s license is a requirement of this position. Related previous experience would be an asset.
Hourly Range: under review
All student interviews will be scheduled between February 19 and February 28, 2020. Please note that all student positions are subject to budget and grant approval, and thus may be subject to change.
